Internships
MTM is at an exciting part of its journey. More and more requests are being made to provide interships for men's workers. To do this with reverence, there is a need to locate and house our community in one place where the formation of men can be done living and working together. above is a schematic of MTM Ministries. If you could imagine all these housed in one place on acreage near Brisbane where men who want to be trained can come as interns to live and work at MTM. This is very important as the spiritual formation of the men is paramount and is best done in an intentional community format. Experience has shown that without a well developed inner life, men can easliy rush off into action projects disguised as the spiritual, but in reality these projects can be just an extension of their egos. This is not helful to these men or the men they will serve. As the inward person matures so shall the outward person and this outward will tend to be far less about themselves and more about Kingdom Business. There is much to teach and model on Prayer, the Scriptures and a simple lifestyle. The interns will need spiritual direction and a safe place to work through issues as their spiritual formation develops. Interns will also work alongside our worker in Community Action Projects. Our aim is not to build a huge team of people for MTM, but to equip men and return them to their local faith communities.
As you can see from this brief overview that many friends and supporters will be required to make this a reality.

MTM Australia was established in 2004 out of a shared vision to reach out and assist men and their families.
Men are feeling increasingly disconnected these days... disconnected from themselves, from their families, and friends... from everything that is dear to them in life. Disintegration of the traditional family unit leading to more marriage breakdowns, skyrocketing suicide rates in men, rising drug & alcohol addiction, workaholism, drivenness - all point to one thing: our men are in crisis. They feel lost, alone, confused and unable to cope with the demands of life.
MTM Australia has begun a work to address these and other major men's issues. MTM is showing men how to move away from their controlling drivenness towards a different journey - a journey where the true self begins to emerge and the false self is put to rest.. a place where authenticity, integrity and balance reign supreme, an oasis where embracing our manhood is the goal; not striving for material gain. A place where being real in relationship and making real male friendships is the key - actively engaging in relationships instead of hiding in the shadows. Engaging life to the fullest - by identifying our deepest purpose and then living it!
